Hump Day Confessions: Air Travel Edition

Vodka and Soda

I get so excited for #HumpDayConfession time now, it's such a needed outlet for all my bottled up, unnecessary rage!

We just went home for the 4th of July and of course, we flew there. I'm not a big fan of flying in general, but this trip really did have some classic UGH moments. I view air travel as a realist which means, there's no point in getting upset. Instead, I just silentlently catalog each experience with the appropriate level of judgement. lol

1.) Stopping short in the terminal. You know what I'm talking about; we're all moving along fine here and then all the sudden BAM, the person in front of you just stops. Usually, they've just realized they are heading the wrong direction or they just saw a Taco Bell and have to make a hard stop. No matter the reasoning, they totally mess everything up! You stumble to catch yourself before crashing right into them or you have to smash into some stranger beside you in order to get around.
2.) Loading the plane front to back. I don't get this. I mean, the back of the bus (er, plane) sucks don't get me wrong, no one wants to be spending more time back there than they already have to, but it is what it is. Let us get back there and situated while the other people fill in the front. Instead, we have to squeeze by already filled seats of all the people with seats that aren't on top of the bathroom who are all situated and ready to take off. There's something very sad about the walk to the back past all the unhappy looking people.
3.) The back of the plane. It's rough back there. It's cramped and in the last rows there aren't even windows! They just back right up to the bathrooms, which means the smell is never quite right during the entire flight. You have to walk past the entire plane before getting to your horrible seat and when you get there all the luggage bins are filled up and you have to check your carry-on. Sad panda.
4.) Not enough snacks or Diet Coke. UGH. It all ties into being in the back of the bus (er, plane). By the time they get to you, they don't have any snacks left.
WHY did you give everyone else 2 packs if you didn't have enough for me?
         I'm invisible.
At least I'll have my beloved Diet Coke.
Oh wait, they're out of it.
         Is Coke Zero good enough?
         NO.
Yes, said the sad sad panda.
5.) People who stand up immediately after we arrive at the gate. Come on, we're going to be here for a few, stop hovering. This becomes especially annoying when the person is literally leaning into your space. There is always one person getting on my last nerves that inches closer and closer to me, with no concern for the fact that I am sitting there.

  1. I am the person that will slam right into you if you stop in the middle of the terminal, not because I'm mad you stopped, always because I can never get my body to stop moving that fast!
